Our work and advocacy laid the groundwork to empower generations to speak in profound ways about the realities, experiences, and disparities of entrepreneurship while defining actions for change.
As an organization solving deeply rooted systemic issues, we take a multipronged approach. Our research outcomes sparked a global conversation to eliminate barriers in entrepreneurship. digitalundivided was the first to debut authoritative research on the state of Latina and Black women founders with the ProjectDiane Report. The legacy of ProjectDiane inspires our expanded research efforts, conducted by women of color and focused on women of color in entrepreneurship and the businesses they lead.

Role & Responsibilities
Reporting to the CEO, The Director of Research, Evaluation & Data leads, develops, and, along with the RED team, executes all of digitalundivded’s research activities, including our groundbreaking ProjectDiane reports, as well as develops and maintains our internal evaluation and monitoring systems.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for building, maintaining, and scaling research projects, managing our evaluation and data management systems, including producing monthly reports and guiding the implementation of high-quality, responsive, and timely activities that support the Operations’ and Program’s projects.
The Director of Research, Evaluation & Data should have experience with startups, non-profits, and/or for-profit social-impact enterprises. It’s important to have a deep passion for digitalundivided’s mission and work and a commitment to creating opportunities for women of color.
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Data/Research
- Lead all digitalundivided internal and external data collection and research activities, including the groundbreaking ProjectDiane research initiatives;
- Identify and lead new opportunities to use data and research to foster gender and racial equity in innovation and entrepreneurial communities;
- Develop sound analysis procedures and create a variety of reporting and dissemination tools (white papers, infographics, workshops/talks) on Latina and Black women entrepreneurs in the entrepreneurial space;
- Manage hiring and retention efforts of research staff, including research assistants and data collectors;
- Coordinate findings at local meetings and co-author reports on findings to journals and other publications;
- Work with external partners to leverage our data for public policy influence;
- Serve as a resource to university partners as well as local community partners.
Evaluation/Monitoring
- Develop, implement, and monitor an evaluation plan addressing logic models, strategic and program evaluation questions, data collection methods, analysis, and reporting;
- Develop relationships with other agencies and providers to ensure access and links with other data systems;
- Develop data collection policies and practices and monitor uniform data collection compliance and quality across the organization;
- Develop and prepare internal reports of status, progress, and outcomes of evaluation activities;
- Develop local methods to ensure reliable, accurate compliance which reflects service activities;
- Develop the outcomes and indicators that will be used to monitor collaborative progress toward digitalundivided’s goals;
