We are seeking an experienced professional to be responsible for providing instrumentation and electrical technical expertise across an assigned site cluster with limited supervision. In this role, you will work to assure proper design, installation and repair of instrument and electrical equipment according to regulatory and BASF standards.  You will provide expertise to support maintenance, operations, and capital project activities. Additionally, this position provides technical support to Root Cause Failure Analyses and other reliability related activities. The general scope is instrumentation, some controls (DCS/PLC) and electrical, typically less than 600 volts.

As a Sr. I&E Engineering Specialist, you create chemistry by...

• Providing technical leadership and support to maintenance teams
• Applying your broad-based knowledge with various types of instrumentation, electrical, and control devices to troubleshoot issues and improve upon existing designs
• Collaborating closely with operating units and reliability groups to improve equipment repair and long-term reliability
• Participating in Root Cause Failure Analyses and execute corrective actions for complex problems
• Leading or supporting project design, construction, commissioning, and startup activities
• Assessing new technologies and alternatives for equipment repair to enhance cost efficiency, reliability, and delivery performance
• Maintaining technical documentation, such as instrument lists, specifications, equipment manuals, procedures, drawings, and guidelines
• Supporting maintenance engineers and supervisors with prioritization and resource planning
• Having a thorough understanding of regulatory regulations and requirements including EHS

If you...

• Possess a High School Diploma or GED with 10+ years of experience, or a 2-year Technical I&E or related degree with 7+ years of experience.
• Have experience in the petrochemical or similar industry
• Possess broad hands-on technical knowledge and experience with instrumentation, process control, electrical, and mechanical equipment
• Have a solid understanding of maintenance work processes and a good general understanding of maintenance activities associated with process equipment such as pumps, piping systems, pressure vessels, storage tanks, relief devices, and compressors

• Exhibit strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal and organizational skills, and keen attention to detail
• Are familiar with software like SAP, SPI (InTools), Microsoft Office
