Maintenance Helper

MAINTENANCE MECHANIC

Under direct supervision, to perform the most complicated types of maintenance, operations, testing, troubleshooting, installation, inspection and repair work in the most complicated types of systems, electrical and mechanical equipment and facilities as found in or associated with generating facilities; and substations, etc., including dismantling and assembly of such equipment. To perform the highest grade work in one or more of the following: millwrighting, electrical, machining, welding, testing, operating, carpentry, and pipefitting. Under general supervision, to perform electrical and mechanical installation and repair work of moderate variety and complexity.

Requirements

• Should have two years' experience as Maintenance Mechanic B or equivalent;

• Should have thorough familiarity with the Company's equipment, standards and practices.

NOTE: Employees will be assigned job tasks of equal, lower-rated or higher rated job classifications commensurate with their skills, training, and knowledge of the jobs to be assigned. Recognizing that safety is paramount, sufficient numbers of employees will be trained in one or more of the above skill requirements to meet operational needs. Training opportunities will be offered on a seniority basis, where practicable. The Maintenance Mechanic role is in a progression series. If required, the successful candidate will be hired in at a helper level until trained to Brookfield’s standards in safety and procedures until they can stand as a Maintenance Mechanic.

Budget: $28.31/hr. per the CBA
