FreeWheel is looking for a Manager, Software Engineering to join our Buyercloud (formerly Beeswax) Ad Serving team. The Ad Serving system is the backbone of the Buyercloud platform. It listens to billions of ad auctions per day, decides which of our hundreds of customers should participate, and executes complex bidding strategies to provide optimal results, in milliseconds.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

Manage a team of software engineers, providing them with direction, guidance, and opportunities for growth.
Collaborate with the BuyerCloud Product Management team to deliver new features to Buyercloud customers.
Provide guidance on technical architecture, design philosophies, and engineering practices for your team.
Drive improvements to Ad Serving software infrastructure.
Ensure adherence to deadlines, specifications, and budgets.
Review team members’ work to ensure quality to team standards.
Provide technical support and training in Ad Serving capabilities.
Implement and review employee performance metrics.
Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies.
Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary.

Working conditions

Preferred Qualifications

3+ years related experience with technical leadership. Experience in the media or advertising industry is a huge plus.
10+ years of overall software development experience.
