Job Description

NBCUniversal is seeking a Manager, Production Assets to serve as a primary client-facing partner for Universal Studio Services, supporting Universal Television productions and third-party clients across commercials, feature film, television, music videos, and events. This role supports Costume, Set Decoration, Props, and Scene Dock rental services, while providing operational and personnel leadership for the New York Asset Centers, with scope to support additional Asset Center operations and broader global initiatives as business needs evolve. In addition to day-to-day operations, this role plays a key part in supporting internal studio operations and driving the continued growth of the third-party business through strategic planning, marketing alignment, and service expansion.

Beyond managing the New York Asset Center teams and third-party initiatives, this role acts as support to internal Universal Television productions, providing strategic guidance on asset planning, storage logistics, labor planning, and cost efficiencies throughout the full lifecycle of a project—from launch, through wrap, and into long-term hold. The Manager partners closely with production leadership, production accounting, and department heads to deliver a high-touch client experience and maximize asset utilization across all television productions.

What You’ll Do:

  • Client & Production Partnership
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for Universal Television productions and third-party clients, supporting commercials, feature films, television, music videos, and events through Costume, Set Decoration, Props, and Scene Dock rental services.
    • Build and maintain strong client relationships by developing a deep understanding of creative, operational, and budgetary needs in order to effectively advise and support rental requirements and service solutions.
    • Support third-party business growth through strategic client engagement, service positioning, and coordination with internal marketing and studio partners.
    • For internal Universal Television productions, host and lead production launch and wrap calls, presenting service offerings and providing guidance on wrap planning, while delivering recommendations with clear cost implications to producers, production managers, UPMs, and other key stakeholders.
  • Operations, Finance & Asset Management
    • Oversee day-to-day operations of the New York Asset Centers, including but not limited to, scheduling, crewing, budgeting, purchasing, trucking logistics, equipment rentals, monthly storage billing and timecard approvals.
    • Manage Universal vendors by overseeing new vendor onboarding, processing invoices, coordinating services and order requests, managing service calls, and resolving billing or service disputes.
    • Partner with studio billing clerks to set up third-party clients, ensure orders are billed appropriately, and confirm client deals and discounts are established correctly.
    • Oversee the full asset lifecycle including acquisition, cataloging, barcoding, inventorying, merchandising, decommissioning, and liquidation.
    • Measure and report rental inventory utilization.
    • Manage on-site and off-site storage facilities to ensure assets are organized, accessible, and cost-effective.
