About the Role:
The DreamBox Senior Director of Funding, Proposals and Partnerships is responsible for expanding DreamBox’s position in the K-12 market to influence, compete in and win more strategic deals at the state, regional and district level. This role will lead proactive engagement initiatives across funding, legislative and strategic partnership channels and oversee the Proposals and Bids team. As the resident K-12 funding subject-matter-expert, this role will help develop internal education initiatives to build a collective understanding of the funding landscape and help identify opportunities to position DreamBox across target segments. Expanding DreamBox’s footprint will also require proactive identification and recommendations of business opportunities through non-traditional channels. This could include, but is not limited to, identifying partnership channels with tangential ed tech and services providers, industry associations, and other entities.
This role is also responsible for the overall strategy, process and execution related to how DreamBox Learning participates in the competitive bid process for K-12 education technology solutions.
This role reports to the Vice President of Product Marketing and has 1 direct report.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Management: Management and leadership of Proposals and Bids team to apply industry best practices to create value-based proposals.
- Expand Funding Fluency: Build knowledge of federal, regional, state, local funding and grant distributions
- Strategic Partnerships: Collaborate in evaluating the need to develop partnerships to strengthen our ability to win deals at the state, local and district level.
- Sales Enablement: Build internal knowledge of public procurement to expand sales strategies, capture plans, and new business partnerships.
- Large Deal Capture: Develop methods of pursuing and capturing new, large district sales and expanding current contracts.
- Market Insights & Analysis: Blend internal and external data sources to provide visibility into patterns and trends as it relates to district spending, market requirements, product-market fit, and competitive intelligence.
- Proposal Process Optimization: Introduce best-practice processes to streamline proposal development and effectiveness.
- Capture Planning: Establish capture planning process for pursuit through pre-RFP client consultation and design
- Cross-Functional Partnership: Work across sales, marketing, customer success, professional development, operations and finance to inform positioning, product investments, partnerships, sales support, and business strategy.
- Strategic Positioning: Assist in developing win themes, articulating our differentiation, innovative response strategies and ensure those elements are adequately reflected in finished proposals.
About You:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, English or a related field
- 10+ years of extensive experience in K-12 policy, funding, and proposals in the K-12 education technology space
- Deep knowledge of the K-12 supplemental technology procurement process, and acquisition guidelines
- A proven track record of improving proposal win rates
- 7+ years’ experience managing, growing, and leading high-performing teams
- Exceptional communication skills
- The ability to comprehend, communicate, and cohesively orchestrate complex business, technical and legal requirements, information, and materials
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills, the ability to build rapport and relationships, and the ability to collaborate with a broad and diverse population of internal and external team members
- Superior time management skills and the ability to manage multiple complex projects with overlapping or competing timeframes
- Demonstrated ability to thrive and continuously deliver in a constantly changing, fast-paced, and team-oriented sales environment
- Proven critical thinking and practical decision-making abilities
- Legally authorized to work in the US

Compensation and Benefits:
Expected base salary range for this position is $133,220 – $195,360 USD annually based on several factors, including experience and geography. This position is also eligible for an annual incentive bonus or sales commission bonus, depending on the role, and benefits that are designed to support you & your family.
