The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

2What Is the Opportunity?
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic team player to join the Strategic Resolution Group within Travelers Claim organization. Under moderate supervision, you will partner with claim professionals, the operations team and leadership to research, develop, analyze and summarize important business information, which is used to resolve complex toxic tort, latent injury, sexual misconduct environmental and/or excess claims. You may also participate in a variety of other projects and tasks. In this role, you may be responsible for identifying operational efficiencies and for understanding changing business conditions. You may help train and develop other team members. This job does not lead others.As of the date of this posting, Travelers anticipates that this posting will remain open until March 5, 2025.
What Will You Do?
- Your responsibilities may include:
- Legal Bill Review / Financial Requests:
- Assist claim professionals by reviewing legal bills for compliance with billing guidelines and approved billing rates.
- Handle more voluminous and/or complex billing assignments that require the development and completion of spreadsheets to accurately reconcile billing amounts with claim-specific data (such as named defendant, dates of first exposure, individual cost sharing percentages, etc.).
- Communicate with internal and outside billing contacts regarding billing questions, deductions or concerns, and resolve discrepancies with little to no guidance needed from claim professional.
- Recognize potential billing irregularities (block billing, large blocks of time billed on certain tasks or by certain timekeepers, etc.) and report to claim professional for further investigation.
- Ensure that sufficient estimates are available and/or maintained as invoices are approved for payment.
- Prepare financial request documentation in accordance with SRG Financial Standards Manual.
- Data and Information Management: Utilize all applicable systems and databases for research, data entry, workflow management and reporting.
- Research and compile information from additional sources as needed (pleadings, releases, medical records, other claim files, corporate history documentation, websites, outside parties, etc.).
- Assist claim professionals with Medicare reporting obligations, information accuracy and proper file documentation.
- Input, analyze and summarize data within claim systems, spreadsheets or other reports, and share observations. Assignments will often be for more complex matters that require the analysis of large amounts of data, and/or require a higher degree of discretion in identifying the relevant data to be gathered for analysis.
- May assist with the completion of various forms for data entry and file set-up and closing, including information accuracy.
- Policy Research and Completion: Research policy information in various databases and document management facilities. With a strong understanding of the SRG archived databases and the facts and circumstances of the underlying matter, independently tailor searches to be thorough and complete.
- Request and complete policies by identifying and adding missing forms and endorsements.
- Financial Transactions: May issue claim and expense payments and credits as requested by claim professionals or SRG leadership.
- Financial Standards Manual: May assume responsibilities such as managing manual check stock, manual check signing, handling cash receipts, and investigating, documenting and correcting issues identified in certain financial and operational reports.
