PURPOSE OF JOB:
Manage the activities of the Business Development Center (BDC). Create business opportunities for variable and fixed operations through direct contact with potential customers. Manage a team of ~6 direct reports in the functions of Receptionist, Service Scheduler, and Internet Sales Specialist (grouped as Business Development Representatives).
JOB DUTIES:
Business Development Center Functions:
- Establish and monitor daily work plans for Business Development Representatives (BDRs).
- Develop, implement, and measure the performance of BDC projects.
- Regularly communicate business opportunities to the Sales and Service Departments.
- Schedule and complete BDR tasks assigned by the CRM software in use (currently Vin Solutions)
- Conduct pre-shift and daily one-on-one meetings.
- Hire, train, and manage BDR’s.
- Participate in regular management meetings.
- Ensure work areas are neat and clean.
- Prepare annual forecasts and business plans for the BDC.
- Report weekly metrics for sales and service BDR activity as identified by General Manager.
General
- Ensure prompt and regular attendance of self and staff members. Scheduled shifts may include evening hours, weekends, and holidays.
- Travel as business needs may require.
- Perform other appropriate duties as may be assigned by Management.

- Participate in and promote the established Quality Improvement Process (QIP) for continuous improvement.
- Participate on teams to research, measure, and correct problems and to strive for process improvement.

- Attend at least ten (10) credit hours of training each calendar year to continue development of work-related skills.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- High school diploma/equivalent is minimally required.
- Some continuing education is preferred.
Experience:
- Experience representing business, in person and via telephone.
Other Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Competencies:
- Professional appearance.
- Strong verbal and written communications skills.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Organized and able to perform multiple tasks.
- Must possess and continuously maintain a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
