Business Development Director: US CYBERCOM

About the role

SIXGEN is looking for a self-starting, emotionally intelligent Business Development Director: US CYBERCOM to provide business and solutions development support for US Cyber Command (USCYBERCOM) and other full-spectrum cyber customers. SIXGEN requires a growth minded professional who thinks differently about business development and proactively creates and shapes opportunities through customer relationships and innovative solutions well before competitors are aware, and throughout the business development and solutioning cycle. This teammate will proactively create, shape and help win new contract opportunities leveraging tools and processes to analyze, develop and manage a dynamic, multi-year pipeline of opportunities in various stages of maturity. This position is located in our Growth Team and reports to our Senior VP of Business Development. This position can be remote with at least a 25% travel requirement.   This teammate will set high WIN conditions for successful opportunity management, and solution development through personal customer engagements and internal SIXGEN condition setting. This teammate will collaborate closely with account PMs, technical directors, and project managers to identify opportunities, develop solutions, and define an implementation strategy pursuant to bid and proposal process. The position will also work closely with SIXGEN technical directors and Subject Matter Experts to identify and customize organic capabilities and partnering opportunities to deliver critical capabilities across US CYBERCOM, including current contracts and future opportunities. The teammate will create and lead customer engagement strategies, develop targeted call plans, lead and/or assist with opportunity qualification, provide critical leadership and input on initial pursue/no pursue decision, shape initial teaming for specific opportunities, and support SIXGEN capture and proposal development/reviews with whatever support is required to win. This teammate will also sustain customer relationships post-award to obtain critical feedback, lessons learned and to ensure the SIXGEN brand is maintained through intense execution and customer-obsession.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Clearly conversant with US Cyber Command priorities and opportunities; the ideal candidate has several years of US CYBERCOM operational and technical experience and/or Cyber Programs of Records (POR).
  • Ability to demonstrate extensive expertise in full spectrum cyber operations with a concentration within offensive cyber/offensive security operations; ideal candidate has understanding of DoD/SOCOM Information Warfare, C5ISR, and intelligence operations, capability requirements, and corresponding solutions implementation.
  • Ability to maintain an extensive network of US CYBERCOM contacts and leverage those relationships to support lead generation and business growth through progressive customer engagements.
  • Must be able to develop and sustain trust-based relationships. Must be passionate about solving customer problems, be results driven, and actively support all of SIXGEN's business development lifecycle that results in the award of programs.
  • Demonstrated outstanding communications and interpersonal skills (oral and written).

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 5 years of successful Business Development experience, with demonstrated success with shaping and winning competitively awarded prime service contracts, prime task orders, and/or OTAs within the CISA and/or DoD customer cyber base(s). BPAs, MAC, MA-IDIQ and/or sub awards are secondary. Additional benefit if the applicant has cyber product sales experience in the same customer base (however, services are priority initial focus). Must be able to specifically cite direct shaping efforts that result in wins. Must be able to discuss business development/growth best practices and personal lessons learned for both contract wins and losses.
