Eramet IDEAS, the Group's innovation and technology center, employs approximately 150 engineers and technicians at the Trappes (78) site. Its role is to develop and implement innovation programs that meet the immediate and future industrial needs of the Eramet group, with a constant focus on safety and continuous improvement, while integrating technological, economic, and environmental developments.

 

Eramet IDEAS aims to:

• Create value through innovation for the group's industrial branches and growth projects,
• Make digital transformation, process expertise, and technological agility accelerators of innovation,
• Be a center of excellence in extractive metallurgy and recycling, essential in Europe and recognized globally.

 

The R&D Director is a key member of the Management Committee. You will actively contribute to defining Eramet Ideas strategy and new business model.

 

You will head up an incubator for innovative projects, promoting value creation and Open Innovation. You will play an essential role as a methodological school for Eramet's future engineers and technicians, cultivating an environment conducive to scientific work.

 

You will also be responsible for stimulating the development of research programs and maintaining irreproachable scientific quality in all our studies.

 

The position reports directly to the President of Eramet Ideas.

Location: France - Trappes (Yvelines) - Paris Region.

Responsibilities :

• Actively contribute to the new business model, strategy and development of Eramet Ideas with the select management committee.
• Supervise and coordinate all R&D departments.
• Propose innovative solutions within the Eramet Ideas Think Tank to meet the challenges of the new business model.
• Adapt and energize the R&D department in line with the new business model, ensuring the development of the research portfolio and maintaining the safety of people, tools and respect for the environment.
• Guarantee the scientific potential of the R&D team, capitalize on knowledge, recruit and develop the scientific talent needed by Eramet Ideas, with a view to strengthening the skills that are essential to the Group.
• Ensure the scientific quality of documents produced by the R&D department.
• Maximize the Research Tax Credit for Eramet Ideas in collaboration with the Group's Administrative and Financial Department, the accounting department and external CIR management bodies.
• Recognized expertise to ensure the confidence of the Executive Committee and Project Directors in the R&D initiatives we manage.

 

 

About you:

• Advanced degree required, PhD in science or equivalent is an asset.
• Minimum 15 years' experience in R&D management, including patent filings and writing scientific papers.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in Mining Operations.
• An extensive international scientific network, and ideally a good knowledge of the Group's internal network.
• International experience required.
• Fluent in English and French.
