Position Overview

The Leadership Development Program Manager for the Department of Corrections (DOC) operates under the Chief of Staff, focusing on planning, developing, and implementing the statewide leadership development program. This role involves collaborating with the Manager of Staff Development and Training, designing leadership training curricula, and coaching agency leaders on essential competencies. The manager conducts various training sessions—classroom, webinars, and virtual—and utilizes technology for effective delivery. Responsibilities include preparing training materials, assessing training needs, maintaining training records, evaluating programs, and analyzing feedback to improve offerings. Additionally, the role requires staying updated on leadership development trends through seminars and conferences. We encourage all qualified applicants to apply.

Essential Functions

  • Under general supervision of the Chief of Staff, serves as the Leadership Development Program Manager for the Department of Corrections (DOC).
  • Prepares training aids and written materials for instruction programs.
  • Conducts workshop registration, maintains attendance records, and distributes training materials and information.
  • Reviews and analyzes course and program evaluations and reporting.
  • Liaises with state and local public jurisdiction officials and employees regarding instruction programs, times, registration requirements, descriptive course content, and other related information.
  • Attends seminars, conferences, and training events provided by industry leaders to remain current on new leadership development methods, tools, and ideologies.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college, with courses in business, public administration, talent development, management, or organizational development.
  • Requires three (3) years of professional experience managing and implementing a leadership development program for a large organization.
  • Of the three (3) years of experience, requires one (1) year of professional experience conducting instructor led, virtual on-demand, and live webinar training.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prefers at least three (3) years’ professional experience assessing, designing, and developing a leadership development training program, including related curriculum.
  • Prefers at least two (2) years of professional experience conducting instructor led, virtual on-demand, and live webinar training.
  • Prefers at least three (3) years’ professional experience strategizing a plan to support organizational goals.
  • Prefers proven expertise in leadership coaching, including a track record of successfully
