Overview
i3 is searching for a Senior Systems Architect to support the Missile Defense Agency Information Management and Software Services (AIMSS) effort. The mission is to design and implement a Missile Defense System with multiple layers of protection. The Senior Systems Architect devises, configures, implements, operates and maintains hardware, software and computer and network systems. Evaluates technology options to ensure the system meets the needs of the organization and develops strategies for scalability, risk management, compliance, and maintainability. This position is located at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL.
Responsibilities
- Develop long term program vision, lifecycle, strategy for new enterprise IT capabilities and value proposition within MDA programs.
- Analyze current government/defense stakeholder capabilities and determine ways to improve design, capabilities, and concept of operations.
- Propose and establish framework for necessary contributions from various departments.
- Creates architectural approaches for software design and implementation.
- Strong technical background and the ability to design and develop a unified vision for software characteristics and functions.
- Collaborate with other professionals to determine functional and non-functional requirements for new software or applications.
- Work closely with project management teams to successfully monitor progress of initiatives.
- Develop high-level product specifications with attention to system integration and feasibility.
- Monitor and assess newly implemented solutions and analyze metrics that indicate improvement or potential issues.
- Analyst enterprise business strategies to determine corresponding changes in infrastructure architectures to meet the on-going service demands of the enterprise.
- Lead the road mapping and evolution of enterprise data and system implementation.
- Oversee progress of development team to ensure consistency with initial design.
- Provide technical guidance and coaching to developers and engineers.
- Approve final product before launch.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or related field is required. Additional experience may substitute for degree.
- Minimum of 10-14 years of relevant experience.
- Approved DoD 8140 Certification – CompTIA Sec+, CCSP, CSSLP, GSEC, CISSP, CISSO, CISSP-ISSAP, CISSP-ISSEP, SecurityX
- Active Secret clearance required. Must be able to maintain the security clearance required for this position.
- Must reside within a 50-mile radius of Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville AL or be willing to relocate prior to start date.
- Ability to reliably commute to the office as business needs dictate.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
