Essential Functions

• Assist in Equipment Maintenance & Repair: Work alongside experienced technicians to maintain and repair various concrete plant equipment, including gearboxes, bearings, belts, electrical motors, pneumatic cylinders, pneumatic valves, water pumps, hydraulic systems, material storage bins, conveyors, and augers.
• Support Preventative Maintenance: Learn and assist in daily preventative maintenance routines to ensure plant equipment is operating at peak performance.
• Troubleshooting & Learning Repairs: Under supervision, assist with troubleshooting mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical systems (up to 480V) and perform basic repairs.
• Learn PLC Systems: Work with experienced staff to learn about PLC systems and assist with basic automation troubleshooting.
• Welding & Fabrication Training: Receive training and hands-on experience in welding and fabrication for plant repairs.
• Heavy Equipment Operation: Train to safely operate heavy equipment for maintenance-related tasks, as needed.
• Documentation: Assist in documenting work performed and learn how to submit progress reports for tracking maintenance work.
• Travel: Travel to various plant locations, including Anderson, Escalon, Roseville, and Sparks NV, as required.
• Compliance & Safety: Learn and adhere to all health and safety regulations, and maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment. Lock out tag out when working on machinery.
• Overtime & Emergency Repairs: Be available to work overtime, including emergency repairs, as needed, while learning to manage repair schedules and timelines.

Position Requirements

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Interest in Industrial Maintenance: A strong desire to learn mechanical and electrical systems with a focus on industrial maintenance.
• Mechanical Aptitude: Basic understanding of mechanical systems and a willingness to gain hands-on experience with industrial equipment.
• Electrical Knowledge: Familiarity with electrical systems (110V, 480V) is a plus, but not required. Willingness to learn electrical diagnostics and repair.
• Willingness to Learn: Open to learning about PLC systems, welding, and fabrication techniques.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in and around plant equipment, including confined spaces and elevated platforms.
• Travel & DMV Record: Ability to travel to various plant locations as required. Clean DMV record and valid driver’s license.
