Casualty Senior Technical Specialist

The Casualty Senior Technical Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient execution of casualty initiatives, adherence to internal controls, and the seamless management of complex casualty claims. Reporting to the Casualty Vice President and Casualty Directors, this position is responsible for providing guidance on claim operations, risk assessment, and special projects.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the administration of the Casualty trial alert process to include prompt and proper operational referrals, case level risk assessment, provide direction to the claim operation and refer and report eligible cases to the Casualty Vice President
- Handle complex claims (large losses over 250K, reinsurance, 93A, Class Actions, Declaratory Judgements and any other case assigned by leadership. (Pending can be up to 50).
- Work within the CCE application to ensure data quality and creating intelligence reports pertaining to claims handling and outcomes.
- Responsible for the Casualty Home Office Referral Process, to include oversight of large loss reserve exposures, coverage one shots and appeals by following on dual diary
- Ensure internal controls are adhered to regarding identification of Umbrella policies
- Monitor all reinsurance cases and provide comprehensive claim notifications and updates to the reinsurer.
- Oversee the Casualty Quality Assurance process and provide monthly reporting to the Vice President
- Oversee File Process Review Task Force which reviews and analyzes current file handling processes and workflows, putting forth handling recommendations that will allow for maximum efficiency
- Handle special project work at request of the Casualty Directors and or Vice President on an as needed basis
- Enforce Company guidelines and procedures. The ideal candidate has a working knowledge of New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Connecticut regulatory claim handling guidelines and statutory regulations. Knowledge of regulatory requirements in other states is a plus.
- Possess a strong working knowledge of Excel including the development of charts and visual data for analytics. Ability to build reports, pivot tables, and utilize Tableau is a plus.
- Prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- The candidate must have excellent written/verbal communication and organizational skills.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from an accredited four year college or university
- Minimum of 8-10 years of prior claims technical/management experience. Strong bodily injury background including litigation, state regulatory compliance, policy coverage, injury assessment and fair claims handling practices.
- Insurance designations (AIC, AEI, or CPCU) a plus.
Range: 90,000 - $122,500
