The Role

The Senior Software Asset Management Manager is responsible for the effective management of software licenses and assets across the Genesys organization. This role involves coordinating with various departments, stakeholders, and budget holders to ensure compliance with software license agreements, optimization of software usage, and negotiation of strategic software vendor contracts. The Senior Software Asset Manager will also focus on reducing costs through strategic asset management practice and application rationalization. This role reports to our VP of Procurement and through the Genesys Finance Organization with a very close IT partnership.


Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain an accurate inventory of software assets deployed across the organization utilizing software asset management tools to track software installations, versions, and usage.
  • Monitor software license usage and perform software reharvests to ensure compliance with license agreements .
  • Maintain ELPs and audit readiness.
  • Manage and prevent SaaS based application sprawl.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional partners such as sourcing, enterprise architecture, security, and legal teams to review compliance and mitigate risks.
  • Analyze software usage data to identify opportunities for license optimization and cost reduction.
  • Partner with Sourcing to help negotiate favorable terms with software vendors to optimize licensing agreements and reduce costs.
  • Develop and document software asset management processes and procedures.
  • Implement automation and workflow improvements to streamline software procurement, deployment, and retirement processes.
  • Provide training and guidance to internal stakeholders on software asset management best practices.
  • Stay informed about licensing models, pricing structures, and product roadmaps for key software vendors.
     

Qualifications

Minimum of 7+ years of experience in software asset management and/or Technology and Software Strategic Sourcing, preferably in a large global enterprise or complex organizational environment.

  • Strong understanding of software licensing models, terms, and agreements including but not limited to: Microsoft, VMware, Salesforce, Oracle, IBM.
  • Understanding of IT asset management principles, practices, and methodologies, including asset lifecycle management, inventory control, software licensing, and compliance.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and generate insights.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Relevant certifications (such as ITIL, CITAM)

Experience with at least one of the following: Flexera One, Zylo, ServiceNow SAM

Compensation:

This role has a market-competitive salary with an anticipated base compensation range listed below. Actual salaries will vary depending on a candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills, and location. This role might also be eligible for a commission or performance-based bonus opportunities.  

$112,350.00 - $220,450.00
