About the role

We’re searching for a Pharmacy Technician Manager - Specialty Pharmacy (Missouri City, TX) -- someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will oversee physical pharmacy satellites/areas, daily operations, technician personnel, and ensure procurement of pharmaceuticals for all Hospital/Health Center Campuses. To identify and monitor opportunities for vendor changes to ensure fiscal responsibility validates appropriate inventory levels. To identify and promote strategies to provide safe and effective preparation and delivery of medications to all patients served.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manages Technician Personnel
  • Interviews, selects, trains, and manages pharmacy technicians daily in all pharmacy areas
  • Addresses personnel, operational, scheduling and daily pharmacy issues and needs
  • Inventory Management
  • Monitors Operations and Oversees Staff in the Areas of Responsibility
  • Education, Documentation and Essential Functions

Skills & Requirements

  • H.S. Diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 5 years of Pharmacy technical, inventory/purchasing, and/or operational experience required
  • 3 years of Pharmacy purchasing experience preferred
  • 3 years of Supervisory experience preferred
  • RPHT-TX - Reg Pharmacy Technician by the TX State Board of Pharmacy required
  • CPM - Certified Purchasing Manager by Certification in purchasing & inventory management preferred  
  • 40 hours of training in compounding sterile products accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education or the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists preferred
