Job Description
The PXP Junior Editor has a wide-range of responsibilities, as he/she handles everything from editing lower tier broadcast spots and web content to daily media requests (including but not limited to project deliverables, compressions & media acquisition). The Junior Editor will be running edit sessions by themselves and needs to be strong in client management skills.
Position is required to frequently shift focus, task, and responsibility while working on multiple projects. Person must have a level head and be a clear, quick thinker. Ability to transfer information to teammates is a must. Person must have an in-depth understanding of how to create content that appears in social spaces (Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok, etc.). Must have the ability to find solutions to quickly turn around projects. A high degree of accuracy, creativity, and professionalism is expected.
Qualifications
Responsibilities
- Editing everything from lower-tier broadcast work to social content to web videos.
- Working in sessions with agency and brand clients (ability to run a room full of clients on one’s own).
- Creative conversion of 16x9 assets to 4x5, 1x1, 9x16, and all other aspect ratios needed.
- Prepping of projects for finish.
- Offer support to editors to achieve creative vision (assembly edits, rough cut passes, etc).
- Porting of proejcts from Premiere to other post production software such as After Effects and Resolve.
- Final conform/delivery of masters (slating, final QC, 5.1 mixes, SRTs etc.).
- Partner with other PXP studios and external vendors to facilitate project sharing.
Location & Commitments
- Full-time role, in-person/in office will resume as a hybrid approach to work.
- Travel may be required for production needs.
- Overtime may be required to deliver on client projects and deadlines.
Candidate Requirements
- 2-5 years of post production experience.
- Expert in Premiere Pro.
- Proficient in After Effects, Media Encoder, Resolve, Photoshop and Illustrator.
- Technical understanding of video and the post-production pipeline.
- Passionate, driven, proactive, curious, with an ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, high-expectation environment.
- Strong sense of priorities with the ability to manage multiple asks/tasks.
