About the role
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assemble materials/ sub-assemblies in accordance with the schedule, specifications and quality requirements.
- Follow instructions assigned by the supervisor, engineers & managers.
- Follow procedures in accordance with the Quality System.
- Support operators as necessary to keep product moving through the work cell.
- Accurately report production information to supervisors and managers.
- Keep work area clean and orderly.
- Regular maintenance of equipment.
- Troubleshooting defective products and errors.
- Regular stock inventories
- IQ transactions – MRP as needed.
- Management of inventory
- Operator training.
- Assist in identifying continuous improvement opportunities.
- Safety hazard identification and elimination.
- Participate in Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
- Undertake other duties as requested
REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to work in a fast paced production environment with multiple product changes during the shift.
- Interpersonal skills.
- Communication skills.
- Trained to safely operate a forklift.
- Capable of lifting up to 40 lbs. during daily job duties
- Hand/eye coordination.
- Able to perform job function while standing for an entire shift, including overtime when necessary.
- Able to work additional hours, overtime hours when requested.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two to four years production assembly experience preferred
