Overview
The Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for visitors, vendors, and callers, ensuring a professional, safe, and welcoming experience. This role combines high-touch hospitality with safety awareness, partnering closely with the Security team to control facility access, maintain accurate records, and support incident response. The Receptionist promotes a positive ministry image, upholds security standards, and assists with special projects that strengthen the relationship between the Ministry and its staff, guests, and listeners.

This role will be an in-office role at our Franklin, TN headquarters.
Here’s just some of what you will be doing daily…
- Greet and welcome all visitors, vendors, and contractors in a professional, courteous manner; ensure sign-in procedures and security guidelines are followed.
- Create and issue guest, visitor, contractor, and temporary Team Member badges in accordance with Ministry guidelines.
- Coordinate with Security on badge activation.
- Maintain accurate manual and electronic logs for all badges issued and visitors received.
- Upholds Ministry policies for visitor management, including issuing badges and maintaining sign-in/out records.
- Ensure compliance with Purchase Card Industry (PCI) standards and Ministry policies for Team Members, contractors, and visitors while managing facility access at the front desk.
- Answer incoming phone calls promptly and professionally, following front desk call procedures; research and provide information or route calls appropriately.
- Manage incoming packages and other deliveries, including receiving, sorting, notifying recipient(s), and distributing items to appropriate departments and preparing outgoing shipments as needed.
- Maintain basic office supplies for the reception area, requesting replenishment as necessary (visitor badges, sign-in sheets, pens, etc.).
- Coordinate meeting room reservations for front lobby conference spaces, ensuring they are prepared and equipped for guests.
- Provide basic information to visitors and callers regarding ministry programs, directions, and events, using approved scripts or reference materials.
- Assist with internal communication distribution, such as posting approved notices in the reception area or sharing with relevant distribution lists.
- Support hospitality for on-site events by greeting attendees, assisting with check-in, and ensuring refreshments or materials are ready for guest-facing gatherings.
- Ensure reception area readiness by conducting periodic walk-throughs to confirm cleanliness, literature displays, and visual branding meet ministry standards.
- Perform data entry, maintain organized records of visitor activity, and update contact lists as assigned.
- Maintain a neat, organized, and welcoming reception area that reflects ministry values.
- Provide administrative support for special projects, mailings, data entry, and other tasks assigned.
- May occasionally be required to work overtime and off hours on special occasions.

- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in customer service, reception, or other administrative role.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop sincere business/ministry relationships.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, exercising sound judgment while meeting established goals.
- Strong self-management abilities to accomplish tasks in a timely manner.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, as well as project management experience, is preferred.
