You will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and evaluating system-wide education needs in collaboration with facility/division educators to ensure standardization. Serving as a key advisor to senior leadership, this individual will provide guidance on nursing-related issues and their impact on patient care quality, safety, and organizational performance. A critical role involves supporting the maintenance of nursing excellence through the development and implementation of Clinical Development programs and robust Clinical Ladder frameworks.
This individual will work with Clinical leaders to drive professional best practices, achieve efficiency in system-wide processes, promote "top of license" practice, and coordinate system-wide policies and procedures. Responsibilities include overseeing system-wide clinical policies to ensure effective and timely review and communication.
This role requires the effective use of data to drive improvement, promotion of a culture of continuous learning and professional development for all nurses, and support for the advancement of nursing research and scholarly activities.
What You’ll Do:
- Collaborate with health system leadership to design, implement, and monitor system-wide education strategies that align with organizational goals.
- Support the professional growth and development of clinical staff, including new graduates through programs such as Nurse Residency, Clinical Ladder Advancement, and professional certifications.
- Lead the review and standardization of clinical policies and procedures, ensuring timely updates and effective communication.
- Act as a system resource and advocate for nursing excellence, nursing education/ professional development and Professional Governance initiatives.
- Oversee the Learning Management System (LMS) to ensure effective use in supporting organizational learning needs.
- Use data-driven insights to identify opportunities for improvement and implement impactful solutions.
Qualifications
Education:
- Master’s Degree in Nursing, Education, Business Administration, or Healthcare Administration (required).
Experience:
- 5+ years of progressive leadership experience (required).
- 5+ years in a healthcare setting (required).
Licenses and Certifications:
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure through the Virginia Department of Health Professions (VDHP) (required).
