Your impact:
House Beautiful is looking for an assistant social media editor who can help manage and grow the brand’s many digital platforms: Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, TikTok, Apple News, and more. This position will work on all day-to-day operations critical to the brand’s social and digital strategies. The ideal candidate is as creative as they are organized who knows how to utilize social platforms and has experience producing creative social content.
Responsibilities:
- Shoot and edit short-form, social-first video
- Help design social assets
- Schedule and program feeds in accordance with editorial and social calendars
- Write captions and social-first content
- Post to House Beautiful’s social media accounts, including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, and any emerging platforms; help House Beautiful content get promoted on other digital platforms like Apple News, and ensure content is done according to brand standards and deadlines
- Collaborate with editorial teams to create and execute on digital and social-first initiatives
- Manage social communities across platforms
- Support the digital and social growth of House Beautiful as needed
Requirements:
- A social-first storyteller with 1+ years of social media experience, strong editorial judgment, and clean writing skills
- Graphic design experience in Canva and/or InDesign
- A love of interior design and social media (your algo is filled with the latest design trends and DIY projects!)
- Must be able to create and optimize social content across platforms (including social-first video) and have an understanding of social and data tools, such as True Anthem, Dash Hudson, Sprout and Parse.ly
- A team player and lover of fast-paced, collaborative environments
The base salary for this role is $60,000. The base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as: transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
This is a position covered under the Writers Guild of America, East, Collective Bargaining Agreement.
