Position Overview

Illinois OSHA, a division of the Illinois Department of Labor, is partially funded by federal grants and is required to be at least as effective as federal OSHA.  The Assistant OSHA Chief serves as the Department’s liaison with federal OSHA; ensuring the Illinois State Plan meets the multiple grant requirements and goals.  The ideal candidate is a subject matter expert on OSHA standards with grant management and budgeting experience.  Illinois OSHA’s mission is to ensure safe and healthy working conditions by setting and enforcing standards, providing training, outreach, education, and assistance to employers throughout Illinois. Essential Functions

  • Serves as the Illinois State Plan Coordinator for the Illinois Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) Division.
  • Serves as the Agency’s liaison with Federal OSHA representatives regarding the coordination and administration of the Illinois State Plan and its grant.
  • Establishes and coordinates a training
