Executive Director, US Corporate Communications
Position Summary – As a senior member of the global corporate communications team you will lead and drive key decisions involving the following within a key strategic market for the organization: design, execution and implementation on all areas focused on the communication strategy for the US based on the global corporate strategy. In this key position you will focus on BioNTech’s oncology portfolio. Reporting to the Vice President of Corporate Communication, with a dotted line into the US GM Oncology and a key member of the US Commercial Leadership team. In this exciting new position, you will build a communication strategy and drive journalist interactions in the US, raise BioNTech’s profile in an interdisciplinary approach and work with internal and external stakeholders to develop portfolio & product communication plans, generate content in line with strategic goals, coordinate dissemination across various media / channels.

As an experienced communications leader is you will be responsible for establishing a new function from scratch in a critical market while being an integral part of the global communications team.

Demonstrated excellence in all areas of strategic and product communications including corporate communications, executive communications, change communications, media relations, issues management and product communications for lay audiences.

Demonstrated experience in leading a communications profile and raising activities in the US based on strong relationships with key media outlets, journalists, and influencers in the healthcare industry.

Extensive experience in developing product communication strategies and campaigns to raise awareness, shape perception, and enhance the reputation of the company and its products within the US market.

Proven track record successfully leading public relations efforts for multiple product launches in the pharmaceutical industry, including coordinating launch activities and managing stakeholder communications.

Demonstrated experience working in a highly matrixed environment with an ability to build strong partnerships, influence and align across the organization.

Executive presence and experience working in a counselor role with senior leaders. Organized, confident, professional presence and not easily distracted or rattled. Emotional intelligence is imperative.
