Patient Service Specialist – Semoran, FL
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday 9:00 AM–7:00 PM | Every Other Weekend 9:00 AM–4:00 PM
Reports To: Front Office Supervisor
General Summary
The Patient Service Specialist (PSS) plays a vital role in ensuring a positive patient experience and the overall success of the medical center. This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and adherence to organizational protocols and values.
The PSS will work in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment providing administrative and front-office support to ensure smooth daily operations. Crucial Care delivers non-hospital-based emergency and urgent care through an efficient outpatient model—offering specialty-level emergency medicine services that help reduce unnecessary ER visits, minimize hospital admissions, and enhance patient satisfaction.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Front Office Supervisor, the Patient Service Specialist is responsible for:

Registering and entering new patients accurately into the patient database.

Verifying insurance coverage and obtaining required authorizations.

Preparing and maintaining organized patient charts.

Scheduling patient appointments and managing provider calendars.

Collecting copays and contracted rates from patients.

Coordinating patient admissions and assisting with discharge processes.

Auditing charts for completeness and following up with the clinical team for missing documentation.

Ensuring compliance with all information security policies, promptly reporting issues, and contributing to continuous process improvements.

Active BLS certification strongly preferred

Previous patient services experience in a medical office setting preferred

Must successfully pass a Level 2 background screen and drug test

Able to perform the duties expected for an active role in a busy office environment (standing, walking, teaching, public speaking, pulling, pushing, lifting, etc.)

Ability to use all necessary office equipment (faxes, copiers, computers, telephones, etc.)

Able to stand and work up to 12-hours in a day

Legibly write English, clearly speak English and proficiently read English
