About the role

ROLE SUMMARY

The Managed Markets Finance team is responsible for forecasting and managing the balance sheet liabilities for the Commercial, Medicare Part D/Coverage Gap, Medicaid, and Tri Care channels for all BioPharma products.  Other critical responsibilities include enabling, supporting, and preparing analysis on the Chargebacks pipeline accrual, Sales Returns accruals (Sales Returns and Steady State), and GPO Admin Fee accruals. 

The Manager of Managed Markets Finance reports directly to the Senior Director of Managed Markets Finance and is responsible for owning the Chargebacks Pipeline accrual, Sales Returns accruals, and GPO Admin Fee accruals, as well as supporting other projects such as integrations, and other organization wide, and team specific projects when needed.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide timely and accurate GPO Admin Fee, Chargebacks pipeline, and Sales Returns accruals in accordance with the US BioPharma calendar.

    • Collaborate with PCA team to ensure that all new contract updates are accurately reflected in GPO Admin Fee calculation

    • Coordinate PCA to ensure that upcoming payments are appropriately reflected in the reserve balance.

    • Partner with GFS and BU Finance to understand fluctuations in chargebacks activity, identifying key events such as LoE’s that can significantly impact chargebacks pipeline accrual, ensuring that the reserve is appropriately stated. 

    • Provide Ad Hoc Chargebacks reporting by channel for variance commentary and use in the pricing impact model.

    • Own and update sales returns point of sales accrual rates in SAP.

    • Manage the steady state sales returns reserve, evaluating current liability vs. calculated range and reasonableness test.

    • Manage the LoE sales returns reserve process and calculation.  Identify LoE products that require a reserve and partner with Trade and BU Finance to estimate the reserve required.

  • Own the Chargebacks Allowance account forecast for use in the forecasted DSO calculation. 

  • Provide clear and concise explanations to Senior Director of Managed Markets Finance and BU Finance members for variance analysis.

  • Point of contact for Controllers and External Audit to explain fluctuations in the GPO Admin Fees, Chargebacks Pipeline and Sales Returns reserves.

  • Partner with BT to ensure data integrity in Chargebacks, GPO Admin Fee, and Sales Returns calculation tools

  • Identify efficiencies and improvements to existing processes.

  • Support Director and Senior Manager team members with ad hoc analysis for projects and allocation of workload.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Applicant must have a bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting with at least 4 years of finance or accounting experience; OR a master's degree with at least 2 years of experience; OR a PhD with 0+ years of experience; OR as associate's degree with 8 years of experience; OR a high school diploma (or equivalent) and 10 years of relevant experience.

  • Must have good analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills (oral, written & presentations) demonstrating the ability to effectively summarize critical information into clear, concise, and insightful updates for senior leadership 

  • Good financial modeling and independent analysis ability, and proactive thought partnership

  • Ability to manage and prioritize competing business needs and high priority deliverables

  • Possess organizational skills and ability to manage and reconcile large amounts of data from various systems. 

  • Experience working in a deadline driven environment

  • Ability to work independently or with minimal supervision

  • Negotiation and influencing skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Accounting Degree preferred

  • Expertise in managing balance sheet accruals and reconciliations

  • Industry knowledge

  • Ability to interpret and link financial results to business actions

  • Strong experience with Pfizer’s financial systems (e.g. Oracle Essbase/Global Mosaic, SAP, etc.)

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $86,800.00 to $144,600.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 12.5% of the base salary and eligibilit
