Custodian Team Leader

Description

POSITION SUMMARY: The Custodian Team Leader will be a working janitorial position as well as oversee all aspects related to cleaning duties and materials inventory across all Divisions.

REPORTS TO: General Manager of Property Division

SUPERVISES: Custodians

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform daily cleaning duties of assigned location(s)
• Develop, lead and oversee the work of all custodians to maintain a clean environment across all locations
• Inventory control – Ordering, warehouse organization, and distribution across all locations
• Effective communication to bridge the overall Property Management team (Building, Grounds, Custodial)
• Utilize industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout entire Custodial process
• Monitor progress and make adjustments as needed
• Regular and timely attendance are an expectation of the position.
• Follow the 5S foundations for deploying lean production tools and processes.

Requirements

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

• Previous custodial experience required.
• Previous Inventory Control experience preferred but not required
• Previous experience with a fork truck preferred but not required. Or willingness to learn.

• Valid driver’s license required to drive company vehicle

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Physical Activity: Talking, hearing, repetitive motion, stooping, crouching, standing, walking, lifting, and climbing stairs
• Physical Requirements: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.  
• Visual Acuity: ability to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned including to make general observations of facilities.
