Overview
BerryDunn’s Medicaid Practice Group is seeking a Medicaid Senior Consultant, Program and Policy who has experience working at one or a combination of 1) at a consulting firm supporting state Medicaid agencies, 2) at a managed care organization (MCO), and/or (3) at a state Medicaid or health and human services agency.
BerryDunn’s Medicaid Practice Group focuses on supporting decision makers in state Medicaid agencies throughout the country in the design, development, financing, implementation, and evaluation of their Medicaid programs. Our team applies our knowledge and skills in the areas of, federal policy and legislative analysis, Medicaid program design and development, and information systems technology. Serving as trusted advisors, our contributions allow policymakers and institutions to focus on their objectives with the information and tools they need to make the right decisions to achieve their program goals.
This position can be remotely based or based at BerryDunn’s offices in West Virginia, Maine, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Arizona, New Hampshire, or Puerto Rico. You will report to and partner with senior management in our Medicaid team both for client work and career development. With a growth mindset, you will drive your development with the support of a learning and development culture.
Travel Expectation: 30% to 50%
You Will
- Lead client projects and/or initiatives related to Medicaid program oversight and compliance; policy, health equity, and/or managed care programs.
- Facilitate meetings and interviews with client stakeholders, including development of presentations and other materials to support meetings.
- Conduct project management tasks such as tracking and reporting project progress, maintaining a project document repository, and reviewing deliverables for quality assurance.
- Lead the development of concise summaries, reports, and presentations of complex data and information for client leadership.
- Research, review, and analyze a broad spectrum of Medicaid and healthcare data, policy, and financial impacts.
- Provide functionality and/or technical expertise in resolving inquiries from other teams about solutions within their area of specialization.
- Analyze, review, and manage vendor supplied documentation.
- Deliver frequent, clear, and consistent communication to the client, team members, vendor, and direct reports.
- Support the delivery of services to clients on time, within scope, and within budget.
You Have
- Bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred)
- Three to five years’ experience with at least one State Medicaid program, preferably in Medicaid managed care in areas such as quality, reporting, finance, reimbursement, regulation, policy analysis, behavioral health services, and/or compliance
- Knowledgeable in Medicaid finance, managed care policy and operations, and/or Medicaid regulations and/or compliance
- Experience working with State Medicaid programs, managed care organizations, and/or providers to implement new federal/ state initiatives in a managed care setting, including but not limited to new services.
- Experience leading projects and initiatives in Medicaid and/or health and human services along with supporting skills such as meeting facilitation
- Demonstrated written and verbal communications skills
- Demonstrated ability to adapt and be resourceful to changing needs of the project and client(s)
- Demonstrated ability to excel in a team setting
- Excellence in the areas of time management, flexibility, and attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications/Experience
- Experience working with a national or regional consulting firm, the State, and/or MCO
- Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Professional® (PMP) certification
Compensation Details
The base salary range targeted for this role is $110,000 - $135,000. This salary range represents BerryDunn’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. If an applicant possesses experience, education, or other qualifications in excess of the minimum requirements for this posting, that applicant is encouraged to apply and a final salary range may then be based on those additional qualifications; compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
