Shift: Monday - Friday 8am until completion (Possibility of frequent changes in hours (during surge times) so must be flexible.  Subject to change based on business need.

What Warehouse Operations contributes to Cardinal Health
Warehouse Operations is responsible for performing/controlling a combination of manual or automated tasks necessary for the receipt, storage, and shipment of product. This may include functions of receiving, picking, packing, shipping, staging, transporting, storage, delivery, etc. Also responsible for the efficient flow of products from the point of product receipt from vendors to the shipment of products (via prescribed service parameters) to a variety of internal and external customers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred
  • 3-5 years distribution experience preferred
  • 1-3 years Supervisory experience preferred
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Working knowledge of Six Sigma process improvement preferred
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products
  • Ability to relocate for future growth preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Directing and managing warehouse associates (full time & temporary workers) to achieve timely distribution and receipt of product and motivate employees to ensure that predetermined productivity and quality standards are achieved.
  • Monitoring productivity and adhering to budgetary guidelines and working to meet Distribution Center objectives and operational goals while maintaining standards pertaining to quality.
  • Responsible for the daily scheduling of the work force to ensure proper staffing to select, replenish, restock, locate and ship merchandise in a productive and cost-efficient manner.
  • Holding staff accountable for conducting work in a safe manner, ensuring that warehouse personnel have safe, efficient equipment to perform distribution functions and providing support for a culture that strives toward continuous improvement in Environmental, Health and Safety.
  • Coordinating maintenance of equipment, guiding both preventive maintenance and coordinating all necessary repairs.
  • Recommending and implementing programs, policies, and strategies to increase production and efficient space utilization.
  • Ensuring quality service is provided to the customers and ensuring prompt follow-through on customer correspondence, complaints and inquiries related to shipment of merchandise and stock-on-hand, Developing and implementing modifications and innovations to improve the quality of service to our customers.
  • Adhering to budget requirements and working towards obtaining objectives and division goals.
  • Responsible for employee development, which includes training, coaching, counseling and performance appraisals.
  • Maintaining general responsibility for disciplinary process in the area of counseling, oral and written warnings; insuring a productive work climate in the warehouse operation.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency while providing flawless transactions and services; managing monetary assets and other resources to optimize cost effectiveness.
  • Preparing ad hoc reports as necessary.
  • Ensuring that accurate attendance/PTO records and scheduling are maintained.
