The Cold Section Engineering team is looking for a highly motivated and experienced engineer to join its team as a Senior Project Engineer for the Advanced Military Engines Fan module. The Sr. Project Engineer will be responsible for part-level ownership on a Component Integrated Product Team (CIPT) and will plan and execute assigned tasks to ensure the IPT achieves overall component goals. This role will include direct interfacing opportunities with engineering management, program management, suppliers and customers. The selected candidate will work with a diverse team of individuals to meet requirements and achieve goals. The Sr. Project Engineer will be technically proficient, communicate effectively, and be customer-focused to meet the bold demands of this Military engine program
What You Will Do
- Accountable to CIPT for part-level industrial planning and execution, including communication, risk management and execution to program requirements
- Create, manage, and communicate the Rotors IPT industrial plan
- Coordinate timely creation/release of model-based product definition
- Integrate part-level sourcing activities with Procurement, Industrial, and Manufacturing team members
- Serve as the Rotors IPT Scrum Master and the potential to support additional IPTs as business need dictates.
- Travel up to 10%.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Bachelors of Science in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) or in a related field and 5+ years prior relevant engineering experience OR
- Advanced Degree in a related field and 3+ years prior relevant engineering experience
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Proficiency in use of program/project management tools (e.g. Systems Applications and Products (SAP), Earned Value Management System (EVMS), Teamcenter).
- Demonstrated success in leading multi-functional teams.
- Demonstrated effectiveness in working across functions, organizations and management.
- Focus on results with the ability to drive projects to successful completion.
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills,
- Excellent communication skills, including verbal, technical writing and engineering presentations to all levels of engineering and program management.
- Active Secret Security Clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance.
- Experience with compressor component design/development.
- Exposure to Agile project management
