Senior Product Manager, Surveys
ApplecartAbout the role
About Us
Applecart is the leading technology company that C-suites rely on to reach business-critical decision makers. The most important decisions are made by the hardest people to reach and influence. Historically, C-suite leaders have lacked the tools to reach the stakeholders who matter most to their business. The C-suites of hundreds of Fortune 500 companies, major agencies, trade associations, nonprofits, and governments use Applecart to put their best content in front of business-critical decision makers and those they trust — from policymakers and investors to CEOs, key employees, members of the media and more. Decision makers are informed by what they read, learn from advisors, hear from colleagues, and discuss with family and friends. To break through to them, you must reach them through the only channel that really moves them: those they know and trust. Applecart’s platform uses publicly available data to map billions of social relationships between nearly every American adult and enable clients to deliver content directly to decision makers and those who matter most to them.
We are hiring a Senior Product Manager, Surveys in our New York office.
About the Role:
You will be responsible for defining and driving the product architecture, prioritization, and roadmap for our survey products. This includes both current offerings and developing and launching greenspace products that leverage Applecart’s proprietary data assets to create innovative survey-driven insights. You will work closely with the Vice President of Data Science and his team of data scientists and analysts to design, launch, and iterate on deeply insightful, statistically sound products our customers can’t do without. This role will report to the Director of Product Management for Insights & Optimization.
What You’ll Do:
- Define and lead the product vision for Applecart’s survey offerings, including building out a robust unified data pipeline, integrating with data sources from other teams, and generating automated visualizations.
- Own the product roadmap and prioritization process in close collaboration with data science, engineering, and reporting teams.
- Transform lift, probability, statistical significance, crosstabs, and other statistical and survey concepts into clear, structured product packages that clients can easily digest.
- Partner with reporting teams and engineering to deliver scalable, reliable data pipelines and platform services using technologies such as Databricks and PySpark.
- Design the future of our survey deliverables, from static presentations to interactive UI environments.
- Define and track success metrics that demonstrate impact on client satisfaction, usability, and messaging and creative selection.
- Communicate product priorities, trade-offs, and timelines clearly across technical and non-technical audiences.
Experiences and Capabilities You Bring:
- 5+ years of experience in product management, with at least 3 years focused on data products, infrastructure, or enterprise SaaS environments.
- Professional experience and/or familiarity with data science or survey work and theory, especially as a product manager.
- Impeccable attention to detail and superior organizational skills; able to synthesize densely technical product features into coherent requirements as well as clear external-facing deliverables.
- Ability to thrive in a highly dynamic environment where priorities can shift outside of planning periods.
- Strong written and verbal communication.
- Thoughtfulness about developing and communicating clear milestones (including non-technical ones) that take a product from proof of concept through launch.
- Intellectual curiosity and openness to new ideas and robust (but friendly!) discussions with key stakeholders at all levels.
- Eagerness to collaborate cross-functionally with both local and remote colleagues from a variety of personal and professional backgrounds.
- Experience with Agile methodologies including working in sprints, daily standups, and refinement.
Preferred qualifications:
- Prior experience as a survey scientist or on a data-intensive client analytics team.
- Understanding of end to end survey research workflow is a plus such as sampling, questionnaire design, data collection and analysis.
- Proficiency in SQL, Python and R —enough to engage meaningfully with technical stakeholders and dive into data use cases.
This is a hybrid role. Work from home on Monday and Friday and in Applecart’s New York City office Tuesday through Thursday.
