The GME Data Analyst is responsible for supporting ISMMS efforts in the administration and monitoring of residency and fellowship programs. Reporting to the GME Director of Data and Analytics, the GME Data Analyst will have a strong understanding of statistical methods and data analytic tools and will support the Director in increasing efficiency and ensuring quality in the collection and transmission of data, and the effective evaluation, interpretation, and communication of findings.
- Serve as integral member of team that supports and oversees the administrative teams for the approximately 230 residency and fellowship programs that constitute one of the very largest providers of graduate medical education in the country.
- Develop, maintain, and progressively enhance regular surveys, reports, and dashboards in all areas of and related to graduate medical education, including academic program operations, learner progress and well-being, academic accreditation, regulatory compliance, human resources, finance, and marketing/business development/alumni relations.
- Monitor and maintain completeness and data validity of the central data system across its multiple uses for internal and external purposes of educational, operational, and financial administration. Extract and analyze data from an external hosted web-based platform (New Innovations), create and update reports, communicate with management and platform users to validate and interpret findings, coordinate and perform data updates individually or via interfacing with the platform vendor’s customer support and engineering teams.
- Perform ad-hoc data extraction and assembly, analysis, reporting, and communications to assist and collaborate with parties throughout all parts of the Mount Sinai Health System and external organizations.
- Develop, maintain, and progressively enhance data flows between systems and departments: script data extractions, transformations, and transmissions.
- Submission and management of troubleshooting and improvement requests to primary data system platform vendor (New Innovations).
- Perform administrative tasks in central web-based data system (e.g., user management, data entity configuration).
- Bachelor?s degree in a social science, computing, administration/policy, or other field involving data analysis.
- Strength in generating and visualizing descriptive statistics. Ability in inferential statistics a plus.
- Intermediate or greater proficiency in an open-source data manipulation and analysis programming language such as R or Python.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with ability to interact professionally and maintain confidentiality with broad range of leaders across the health system.
- Excellent organization skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects with careful attention to detail, accuracy, and deadlines.
- Strong problem solving skills, with ability to formulate practical solutions.
