Maintenance Planner - Maintenance - BWX Technologies, Inc.  - Barberton, Ohio

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manages the work of the maintenance technical group, as well as the parts and services group within the department, pertaining to daily work, long term projects, PM’s, staffing requirements, etc.
  • Schedules preventative maintenance, predictive maintenance, and repair maintenance to minimize disruption to the shop schedule.
  • Schedules and manages all safety related maintenance items to ensure they are completed on time and within industry regulated guidelines.
  • Verifies all material required for jobs is on-hand prior to the job commencement.
  • Coordinates with production outside vendor repairs to mitigate conflicts with production schedule and vendor work.
  • Provides cost estimates for repairs and projects, including capital requests.
  • Utilizes SAP maintenance modules to develop long range PM plans and communicates these plans with order departments for load planning.
  • Prepares reports, develops metrics, and monitors maintenance work to ensure work is being accomplished in a timely manner.
  • Communicates with maintenance and production personnel as needed on the upcoming schedule and gives updates during the execution of work.
  • Identifies and resolves scheduling conflicts between maintenance and production schedules to optimize workload.
  • Trains new SAP users in the use of the maintenance modules for work order creation.
  • Monitors work orders, investigates unclear work orders, and corrects any work orders that have errors.
  • Other responsibilities assigned by the Maintenance Superintendent revolving around personnel management, planning, scheduling, and technology based items may be required. 
  • This is a 1st shift position, Mon-Friday.  Some overtime may be required.  Additional details on schedule requirements will be covered.  

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2-years minimum experience in supervision, management, or other relevant leadership roles is required.
  • 3-years of professional experience in maintenance planning, facilities management, or other equivalent role is required.
  • 3-years’ experience with SAP, ideally related to maintenance, is strongly preferred.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and/or a related technical certification is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with HBM, VBM, Lathes, Robot welders and production welding is desired.
