What you’ll do
The Parts Business Manager is responsible for overseeing the comprehensive management of the automotive parts business, ensuring the seamless creation, procurement, pricing, and compliance of After sales spare parts. This role aims to maximize customer satisfaction and business efficiency through strategic planning, effective inventory management, and adherence to legal standards. You will also become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:
- Ensures the systematic creation and tracking of replacement parts and their corresponding part numbers. This process includes generating and maintaining a comprehensive parts list to support the seamless availability and identification of parts across the organization.
- Collaborates closely with the Procurement team and oversees the procurement process to secure necessary volumes of replacement parts for after-sales service. This includes ensuring a minimum stock availability of 15 years to meet long-term demand and minimize stockouts, while optimizing inventory levels to balance availability and cost.
- Develops and implements a competitive pricing strategy based on thorough market research, parts basket analysis, and benchmarking studies to ensure that pricing remains attractive and competitive, enhancing customer satisfaction and business profitability.
- Ensures compliance with all relevant legislation for the commercialization of parts in both the U.S. market and international markets such as Canada and others. This includes staying updated on regulatory changes and ensuring that all parts meet the necessary legal standards.
- Responsible for accurate sales planning and forecasting for replacement parts. This involves creating detailed sales forecasts for upcoming months and years to ensure that inventory levels align with anticipated demand, thereby preventing shortages and excess stock.
- Develops policies and procedures for automatic stock replenishment, parts returns, order types, delivery commitments, core parts management, and pricing is essential. These policies aim to maximize parts throughput, dealer satisfaction, and customer satisfaction.
- Manages the internal ordering process to optimize inventory, maximizing dealer order fill rates while minimizing obsolescence and scrapping. Additionally ensures that the Dealer Support team provides prompt and accurate responses to dealership inquiries, expediting the vehicle repair process.
- Develops creative marketing campaigns and incentive programs to drive wholesale and retail business is a critical function.
- Manages local third-party supplier programs for items not supplied through the global parts program, such as tires, fluids, shop supplies, and uniforms. Collaborates directly with the Director of Parts Logistics ensures efficient order processing and inventory stocking.
- Regularly presents the business status to executives, field teams, and dealers is required while establishing strategic and tactical goals for the department and directs reports. This includes providing guidance, support, and development to direct reports through planning, monitoring, coaching, recognizing, and assessing individuals while adhering to company policies, standards, and procedures.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally approximately 10% of the time.
