The Opportunity:
The Office of Research at Washington State University invites candidates to apply for the Director for Administrative Services. You will be responsible for the management of the overall financial and administrative functions for the Office of Research and all reporting units. You will serve as the principal consultant and advisor to the Vice President for Research on a wide range of fiscal and administrative management issues. Additionally, you may oversee the day-to-day administrative operations of the Office of Research.
This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement subject to incumbent and supervisor mutual agreement.
Required Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration or closely related field with an accounting emphasis and five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in accounting and business management which has included supervisory and facilities management experience. A Master’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration or closely related field and/or CPA certification may be substituted for one (1) year of the required work experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
Experience in budgeting, accounting, financial analysis and reporting.
Demonstrated ability in Workday, Excel, Access or similar database programs, and mainframe financial systems.
Demonstrated ability to work collegially and collaboratively with diverse internal and external constituencies and the ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships within the Office of Research and within the University.
Preferred Qualifications:
CPA or other relevant license/certification.
Demonstrated understanding of self-sustaining organizations.
Experience with sponsored projects.
Experience working with WSU or other higher education institution's financial policies and procedures.

Monthly Salary: $8,338.26 - $13,319.56 | In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.
