Position Overview
The Staff Scheduler will implement and oversee project schedules. In this role, you will collaborate with project managers, setting tasks and monitoring the execution of project timelines. You will provide resource loading and utilization for integrated resource reports. You may also prepare project progress and performance evaluation reports.
Project schedulers should possess solid industry knowledge and demonstrable experience in project scheduling.
Responsibilities
- Developing, implementing, and maintaining an effective scheduling management system.
- Maintaining the integrated master schedule (IMS) as a stand-alone or a collection of integrated schedules.
- Ensuring vertical integration between program milestones and activities in lower-level schedules, such as work package schedules, functional schedules, or subcontractor schedules.
- Reporting overall schedule status to management and stakeholders, especially regarding key program milestones.
- Ensuring scheduling standards and best practices are maintained on all work package schedules.
- Setting the business rhythm for weekly or monthly schedule updates.
- Assist and review schedules built and maintained by Project managers to ensure compliance with customer deadlines and best practices.
- Assisting Project managers with the development and maintenance of schedules.
- Consulting with project managers and technical experts to set up assignments, tasks, and subtasks.
- Coordinating project time-lines with Project managers and external stakeholders.
- Monitoring project time-lines and deadlines.
- Identifying potential project schedule delays and facilitating intervention promptly.
- Evaluating performance and preparing project progress reports.
- Accommodating updates and changes to project schedules.
- Recommending actions to keep projects within budget and completed on time.
- Keeping stakeholders informed of project time-lines and deadlines.
- Other duties as assigned.
- This is a Hybrid working schedule and need to live within 2 hours of Waltham, MA location.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Minimum 5 years' total experience.
- Minimum 2 years' hands-on MS Project experience.
- Proven work experience with an Integrated Master Schedule (IMS).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, facilitation, and communication skills, including written, verbal, and interpersonal, with the ability to explain technical concepts to variety of audiences.
- Ability to demonstrate initiative in front of small and large audiences.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Self-starter able to work independently and within a team.
- Flexibility and the ability to react to rapidly changing requirements.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks concurrently.
- Proficient in MS Office Applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and SharePoint.
