As a Manager Strategic Pricing, you will be a critical partner in the Strategic Revenue Management journey and take a lead role in developing and executing the Pricing and Promotion pillars. You will lead the development of pricing and promotional strategies and tactics, monitor implementation, and evaluate performance regularly. In this role, it is crucial to gain an understanding of optimal trade execution with insight into both pricing and promotional impactors. You will leverage your detailed trade promotion knowledge to impact actual trade performances via interaction with field and headquarter-based Sales and Finance teams as well as lead the pricing process for assigned divisions while developing pricing strategy to enable long term growth.

 

Primary Responsibilities

Thought Leadership

  • Regularly deliver Strategic Pricing & Promotion recommendations and insights to division leadership and cross-functional teams

  • Own division focused pricing process and trade optimization plan, driving action and influencing commercial team to help deliver strategic and financial results as needed

  • Be the category expert, adding commercial and strategic knowledge to aid in and help shape the development of future price modeling and trade optimization tools for your assigned category

  • Ability to influence senior leaders across functions in the development of sound pricing strategy and fluent command of the broad range of pricing and promotional tactics

Promotion

  • Own pre & post-promotional event analysis processes; leverage analysis across divisions to improve promotional planning for future activities

  • Harness and coordinate usage of TPO tool recommendations, building and executing a well-defined process with the aims of driving incremental value and adoption of current and future digital tools

  • Drive the development of a best in class promotion lever scorecard and reporting suite with a focus on delivering value to field and divisional constituents

Pricing

  • Drive consistent, effective, and aligned approach across divisions with a focus on delivering pricing recommendations to key cross-functional partners through effective coaching and leading division aligned analysts

  • Provide analytical support to Brand Marketing and Pricing Management teams regarding pricing guidelines for products by brand and region; communicate with Field Sales on specific pricing and promotions decisions

  • Build and deliver on financial targets and drive collaborative discussion on those targets

 

Requirements and Minimum Education Level

Minimum Qualifications

  • 4+ years of relevant work experience and increasing scope and responsibility in Pricing, Finance, Marketing, Sales, or Analytics

  • An understanding of pricing concepts (elasticity, sensitivities, thresholds) and how pricing & promotion can impact commercial P&L statements

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in BI/visualization software, i.e., Power BI, Tableau; strong proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint

  • Experience working with sales teams and an understanding of customer and market success criteria

  • Knowledge of the consumer-packaged goods industry
