Duke's Offsite Morreene Road Neurology Clinic seeks to hire a Registered Nurse who will embrace our mission of Advancing Health Together.

 

 

Department Summary:

• The Neuro Clinic - Patient population includes a variety of different neurological disorders, including Headache, ALS, Parkinson’s disease, Huntington’s disease, movement disorders, and memory disorders such as Alzheimer's. The clinic includes Physical and Occupational Therapists specialized in the treatment of patients with Neurological and Pain Disorders, as well as specialty Psychiatrists and Psychologists.

Work Hours & Shifts:

• Full-time, Monday-Friday; Varying daytime shift
• We offer both 4-10 hour shifts OR 5-8 hour shifts
• No weekends or Holidays

Job Summary:

• As a Clinical Nurse with Duke University Health System, you will make providing service your priority while caring for the whole person in a patient-centered atmosphere. The Clinical Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing and supervising direct and indirect total nursing care responsibilities. Utilizing the nursing process (assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating) in achieving the goals of the nursing department. Plan and provide advanced and/or specialized nursing care for patients in guided by DUHS Professional Practice model participate in the clinical ladder program, educational activities, departmental committees, research projects or other health related projects as assigned. Provide nursing services to patients and families in accordance with the scope of the RN as defined by the North Carolina Board of Nursing. Adheres to all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state and federal agencies and accrediting bodies. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

Job Duties:

• Plan and provide professional nursing care for patients in accordance with the scope of the RN as defined by the North Carolina Board of Nursing
• Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
• Assist other nursing personnel in the delivery of nursing care and act
• Assist in the development and implementation of general policies and responses.
• Provide direction and guidance in the proper use, care and control of as assigned with physician orders and established policies and procedures to include collecting and analyzing patient data, developing and implementing nursing care plans, establishing interpersonal relationships with patients, evaluating nursing care given and communicating to proper personnel relevant facts about patients, action taken and patient as team leader or charge nurse for a group of patients or an entire unit material resources; appraise quality and effectiveness of material and equipment and report results to head nurse; maintain standards of cleanliness in assigned areas.
• Observe activities of nursing staff and make recommendations to nursing management for improvement in the quality and effectiveness of nursing care given procedures designed to effect efficiency of operations.

Experience

• Experience preferred but not required
• CN Is are eligible for promotion to CN II by meeting criteria set forth by the DUHS Vizient Nurse Residency Program within 12 months of hire. Promotions can occur at 12 months of hire, but no later than 18 months of hire.

 

Education, Degrees, Licensure, and/or Certification

• Graduation from an accredited Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (or higher), Associate's Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma program is required.
