Graduate Assistant, Mens Swimming

Job Description:

The Men's Swimming Program at Wheeling University is seeking a dynamic and committed Graduate Assistant to contribute to the coaching, management, and administrative tasks of our competitive swimming team. This position offers the unique opportunity to combine academic pursuits with hands-on experience in collegiate athletics, supporting the development and success of our student-athletes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the head coach in developing training plans, conducting practice sessions, and coaching athletes during competitions.
• Help in recruiting efforts, including communicating with prospective student-athletes, organizing recruiting materials, and coordinating visits.
• Manage administrative duties related to the team's operations, such as scheduling, travel arrangements, and equipment inventory.
• Monitor and support the academic progress of student-athletes, ensuring compliance with NCAA and university standards.
• Engage in the planning and execution of fundraising and community outreach initiatives.
• Participate in professional development opportunities within the athletics department and the wider university.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree and admission to a graduate program at Wheeling University.
• Previous experience in competitive swimming as an athlete or coach is highly preferred.
