Job Description

In a time of unprecedented expansion, we are seeking a Senior Business Data Analyst, MDM – SAP to join our team. In this position, you will serve a pivotal role position in safeguarding data precision and integrity within the Master Data team. The position encompasses a wide range of data governance activities, from the creation and maintenance of documents, workflows and templates to the documentation of intricate processes regarding master data setup and updates. Proficient in data extraction from SAP GUI Tables for reporting, the role will leverage analytical acumen to provide invaluable insights on material attributes. The analyst’s unwavering attention to detail and commitment to excellence are driving forces behind the optimization of our data-management practices, the facilitation of informed decision-making and the overall enhancement of efficiency within the Master Data team. 

A day in the office looks like this: 

• Become the gatekeeper of auditing master data records within SAP systems to ensure data accuracy, consistency and compliance with established standards and policies 
• Provide recommendations for process enhancements and data governance improvements based on audit findings 
• Take the lead in leveraging and developing ticket tracking tools like Jira to establish the necessary functionality for processing, upkeeping and monitoring incoming requests within the Master Data team 
• Collaborate with various departments to understand their master data requirements and perform data quality checks, validation and cleansing to identify and rectify data discrepancies, ensuring high levels of accuracy 
• Generate reports and insights from the material master in SAP for cross-functional teams regarding reporting and analytics purposes 
• Provide training and support to SAP users on master data entry, maintenance and best practices 
• Execute data migration activities during SAP implementations, ensuring smooth transition of data from legacy systems 
• Collaborate with SAP support to troubleshoot technical issues related to master data management (MDM) while performing root-cause analysis to implement corrective measures to prevent reoccurrence 

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in SAP reporting, workflows and template building 
• 4 years of experience with a focus on SAP MDM a plus 
• MDM systems: Proficiency in working in SAP to manage and maintain master data records effectively 
• Data modeling: The ability to create and maintain data models that define the structure and relationships of master data elements within the MDM system 
• Data validation and cleansing: Skilled at validating and cleansing master data to ensure accuracy, consistency and adherence to data quality standards 
• Data integration: Knowledge of data integration techniques and tools to ensure seamless data flow between the MDM system and other systems or applications in the organization 
• Data governance: Familiarity with data governance practices, policies and frameworks to ensure compliance with data management rules and regulations 
• Business process understanding: Understanding of the business processes that rely on master data, allowing for the effective alignment of data management practices with business requirements 
• Strategic thinking: Ability to think long-term and align master data strategies with broader business and organizational goals 
• Problem solving: Aptitude for identifying complex data issues and developing effective solutions, often in collaboration with cross-functional teams
