School Summary
South Carolina Bridge Connections Academy (SCBCA) is a tuition free, full-time alternative education campus serving students from 16-21 years old across the state of South Carolina in grades 9-12. SCBCA is authorized under state law by the Charter Institute of Erskine and operated by Low Country Connections Academy, a nonprofit corporation, through a contract with Connections Academy LLC. Connections Academy, a division of Connections Education, is accredited by Cognia.
Position Summary and Responsibilities
The Administrative Assistant is responsible for daily administrative tasks of the school such as answering phones and email, receiving visitors, assisting the principal and teachers with administrative tasks, filing and other duties as assigned.
- Entering data into the online student information system
- Answering the phones
- Speaking with parents and students
- Outbound communication via phone, online chat and email with various stakeholders
- Generating required reporting and school specific form collection
- Preparing reports for teachers and administrators by collecting, entering, and analyzing information and data
- Ability to assist in the training and mentoring of new administrative assistants
- Keep projects and reports on schedule
- Demonstrate ability to organize resources and a planned approach in order to execute projects efficiently and timely
- Motivated, self-starter who can work independently and in cross-functional team environment
- Prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously, and follow through on issues in a timely manner
- Excellent follow-up skills; e.g. obtaining missing paperwork or checking in with people to keep a project moving forward
- Assist school Principal with a wide variety of daily responsibilities; and
- Additional duties as assigned
Requirements
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and web-based applications is essential
- Intermediate or higher skill level in MS Excel
- Proficiency with Google Applications (Mail, Calendar, Drive, Hangouts, Documents, etc.)
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to maintain privacy and confidentiality (FERPA)
- Good interpersonal skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Customer focused approach
- High degree of flexibility
- Demonstrated ability to work well in fast paced team environment
- Preferred: experience with computer-based Information Systems
