Summary:
The Director of PACE Physical Operations is responsible for the leadership, operational oversight, regulatory compliance, and strategic management of all non-clinical support services within the EverTrue PACE program. This position provides direct supervision and operational leadership for housekeeping, environmental services, building maintenance, transportation services, dining and food services, safety and security initiatives, vendor management, and facility operations. Working in close partnership with the Director of PACE Clinical Operations, the Executive Director, Medical Director, and interdisciplinary team (IDT), this role ensures that the PACE center environment, participant transportation systems, and hospitality services support exceptional participant experiences while meeting all CMS, state, federal, and organizational requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Facility Operations & Maintenance
- Plans, directs, and coordinates activities related to the operation, maintenance, repair, and improvement of PACE center facilities, equipment, grounds, and physical infrastructure
- Develops and executes preventive maintenance programs to ensure optimal performance and longevity of equipment, vehicles, and facility assets
- Conducts routine inspections of buildings, grounds, vehicles, and equipment to identify repair, replacement, and safety needs
- Oversees facility projects, renovations, and capital improvements while minimizing disruption to participant care and center operations
- Maintains all facility records, maintenance logs, inspection documentation, permits, licenses, and compliance reports
2. Housekeeping & Environmental Services
- Leads housekeeping and environmental services operations to ensure a clean, safe, welcoming, and therapeutic environment for participants, visitors, and staff
- Establishes cleaning schedules, infection prevention support processes, and quality standards consistent with PACE regulations
- Conducts environmental rounds and quality audits to ensure cleanliness and operational excellence
- Investigates and resolves environmental concerns, participant complaints, and service issues
3. Transportation Services
- Directs all transportation operations supporting participant attendance, community appointments, and program access
- Ensures transportation services are delivered safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory requirements
- Oversees vehicle maintenance programs, driver scheduling, vehicle inspections, and transportation vendor relationships
- Monitors transportation quality, participant satisfaction, timeliness, and operational performance indicators
- Ensures all transportation staff maintain required certifications, licenses, and safety training
4. Dining & Food Services
- Provides operational oversight of dining, food service, and hospitality functions within the PACE center
- Partners with dietary leadership to ensure participant-centered meal service and compliance with food safety regulations
- Monitors food service quality, dining operations, sanitation standards, and participant satisfaction
- Supports development of hospitality-focused dining experiences that promote participant engagement and well-being
5. Safety, Security & Emergency Preparedness
- Serves as a key member of the PACE Safety Committee and Emergency Preparedness Team
- Coordinates facility safety programs, security processes, environmental risk assessments, and emergency response planning
- Oversees implementation of safety initiatives designed to minimize participant, visitor, and employee risk
- Ensures compliance with fire safety, life safety, OSHA, transportation safety, and emergency preparedness requirements
- Maintains relationships with local emergency management agencies, fire departments, health departments, and regulatory authorities
6. Budget & Resource Management
- Develops, manages, and monitors departmental operating and capital budgets
- Maintains departmental performance within approved budget parameters while optimizing service quality
- Reviews service contracts, negotiates vendor agreements, and obtains competitive bids when appropriate
- Oversees inventory management for supplies, equipment, maintenance materials, housekeeping products, and transportation resources
7. Regulatory Compliance & Quality
- Ensures compliance with CMS PACE regulations, state PACE requirements, OSHA regulations, life safety codes, transportation standards, and organizational policies
