We are seeking to add an energetic, technically qualified, problem-solving, Senior Financial Reporting and Investor Accounting Manager. The Financial Reporting and Investor Accounting Manager reports to the Controller and will be responsible for producing timely and accurate financial reporting for the company and its investment partnerships. The FR and Investor Accounting Manager does not have any direct reports but is responsible for managing the team in the monthly general ledger close process. They are also a key person in maintaining the company’s relationships with its external equity partners and lenders.

Requirements

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the preparation of the LLC combining and Beach Consolidation Statements for the quarterly board meetings and annual shareholder meeting. 
  • Responsible for coordinating the accounting department’s monthly general ledger close process. Including preparation of reconciliations of notes, investments, and fixed assets monthly.
  • Responsible for the accounting and reporting for the Companies Investors. Including recording partnership income to all the investment/investor partnerships (approximately xx entities) in accordance with complex partnership structures. Investment level AP invoice processing as needed. As well as monthly/quarterly financial reporting to investors.
  • Manages all investment partnership level cash to ensure adequate funding to meet the partnerships’ obligations is secured in accordance with complex partnership structures.
  • Responsible for calculation, recommendation, and payment of investor distributions. Including quarterly executive distributions tied to investments.  
  • Review/assist with preparation of the board presentation.
  • Responsible for all bank financial reporting including financial statements, covenant reporting, etc.

Education and Experience

The successful candidate will be a highly motivated collaborative team player with the ability to foster good working relationships across the organization as well as with our external partners. The person must possess an excellent work ethic with the ability to organize and prioritize competing requests. They must be deadline oriented and able to motivate team members to collectively meet the many deadlines facing the department on a monthly basis. Specific requirements for this role include:

  • An undergraduate degree in accounting. MSA, CPA preferred, but not required.
  • 7+ years of experience in commercial real estate accounting and/or public accounting - assurance w/ concentration in CRE.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & PowerPoint). 
  • Experience with MRI software preferred, but not required.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
