Merchandising Sales Consultant
The primary goal of this position is to make the convenience stores you work with profitable. Will focus on store sets and resets to maximize sales for the stores, as well as be responsible for developing and implementing merchandising strategies to maximize sales and profitability which involves analyzing market trends and collaborating with sales teams to ensure optimal product placement and promotion. Additionally, the consultant will focus on new account development which includes prospecting new business opportunities.
Location: Primarily will work on accounts from York, Nebraska to Big Springs, Nebraska; but may assist in other areas as needed. This position may average 1-2 overnights per week and a company vehicle is provided.
Pay & Hours: This is a salary position with bonus potential. Will average 40-48 hours per week; may include Sunday night travel at times.
Key Responsibilities:
Store Sets (approximately 50%; or 2-3 days per week)
- Execute store sets and ensure planogram compliance across all retail locations.
- Work closely with store managers to implement and maintain planograms and merchandising standards.
Store Visits (approximately 30%; or 1-2 days per week)
- Provide training and support to sales staff on merchandising best practices.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities to expand the customer base.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients.
Home Office (approximately 20%; 0-1 days per week)
- Analyze sales data and market trends to identify opportunities for product placement and promotion.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and competitor activities.
- Monitor and report on the performance of merchandising initiatives and make recommendations for improvements.
- Develop and execute merchandising plans to drive sales and enhance the customer shopping experience.
- Collaborate with sales teams to ensure effective product displays and inventory management.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures related to merchandising and sales.
- Prospect and establish new accounts through networking, cold calling, and other sales techniques.
Education & Experience:
- High School education is required
- Driver’s license with approved driving history is required
- Experience in merchandising and sales within a retail environment is preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is preferred, with ability to learn merchandising software
- Experience with store sets and planogram execution is preferred
- Experience in new account development and business prospecting is helpful

Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to sit for long periods at a time traveling to various work sites.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis when performing store re-sets
- Must be able to perform a multitude of physical activities (stand/walk/bend/squat/stoop/kneel) on a regular basis when performing store re-sets.
