The QC Laboratory Shift Lead Laboratory Technician ensures the quality of products by performing physical and chemical analyses of raw materials, in-process and finished products in support of the manufacturing process. 

 

The QC Laboratory Shift Lead Laboratory Technician primarily works 40 hours/week (8 hours/ day; 5 days/week).   This position rotates between two shifts every 3 months: Sunday – Thursday (11pm – 7am) and Monday – Friday (3pm – 11pm). This position requires schedule flexibility to assist with vacation coverage of other team members when necessary (including some weekends and holidays) as well as some early-morning training responsibilities.

During your shift as a QA/QC Shift Lead Technician, you will

 

• Analyze routine raw material, in-process, and finished good samples using various laboratory techniques including High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), Near Infrared Spectroscopy (NIR) and other methodology such as particle size analyzer, density meter, etc. Coordinate special testing samples and special projects as assigned by Lab Management.

 

• Serve as secondary trainer for other QC Laboratory Technicians.  Training may occur during the early morning. Complete routine troubleshooting and maintenance of laboratory equipment.

 

• Provide timely and accurate documentation of all analytical data according to Standard Operation Procedures (SOP). Serve as primary reviewer for data verification and release Packaged Materials that meet specifications. Escalate Out-of-Spec materials to QC Lab Supervisor for data review.

 

• Aid in management of inventory of consumables such as HPLC, columns, spare parts, reference standards, and control samples.

 

• Serve as the leader of the shift by conducting the Shift Change meetings to communicate the status of the lab with Lab Management. Identify and implement process improvement in laboratory functions.

 

• Strictly adherence to established quality, safety and environmental standards is required. Handling and maintaining Hazardous and Nonhazardous Waste from Lab testing and Equipment per the site guidelines.

If you...

• Own at least a High School Diploma or GED equivalent (Bachelors and Associates degree preferred).

 

• Possess 2-4 years of experience in an Analytical Lab environment.
   
• Have strong math skills.
   
• Have team leading experience.
   
• Own strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
