William Paterson University invites applications for the part-time position of Project Coordinator for the Early Childhood Education RAPID project, funded by the New Jersey Department of Education. This position will require 20 hours of work per week, and will run through December, 2024.
Reporting to the Dean of the College of Education, the Project Coordinator will support planning, coordination and development of programs and activities as delineated in the Early Childhood Education RAPID program agreement between William Paterson University and the New Jersey Department of Education.
The Project Coordinator will work collaboratively with the Dean’s office, the early childhood education faculty, local school district administrators and educators, early childhood education teacher candidates and program completers and other stakeholders.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate school district meetings to understand the strengths and areas for improvement in the teaching of reading and literacy to students in Pre-K through grade 3.
- Plan, coordinate and facilitate meetings of an advisory group to assess the barriers and opportunities, set goals, develop metrics, and monitor progress of the project.
- Develop and maintain a tracking and monitoring system for reporting purposes.
- Write interim and final reports as defined by the WP-NJDOE agreement.
- Work closely with project team to coordinate the development of 15 synchronous professional learning modules for in-service educators.
- Performs other duties appropriate to the position.
Qualifications
- Graduate degree in education or a related field from an accredited college or university.
- Two (2) years of professional experience, preferably in a supervisory role in early childhood education, Pre-K to grade 3.
- Strong background in early literacy development desired.
- Knowledge of and proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office software.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including after school hours, evening and weekend hours.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
