Summary
We are seeking a Business Manager to support Managing Directors in all aspects of business management for assigned clients. The Business Manager is responsible for overseeing all financial and tax matters for assigned clients and entities. The Business Manager is further responsible for the oversight and mentorship of staff accountants and account managers. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills, strong knowledge of tax and accounting principles, attention to detail and a collaborative approach. This is a hybrid role, being in the office 2-3x per week.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Strong understanding of complex multi-state tax matters for high-net-worth individuals. Including preparation and review of individual, S-corps, C-corps, partnerships, and estate tax returns.
- Communicate directly with cross-functional teams and collaborate with Managing Directors to achieve client goals related but not limited to real estate, insurance, and investments
- Oversee and manage onboarding of new clients
- Address client inquiries in a timely manner
- Analyze client billing and address discrepancies as needed with assigned staff
- Review financials & various reports from account management teams for accuracy including but not limited to fair market value reports, cash flows, income statements, meeting packages, quarterly sales tax, quarterly and annual guild reporting, payroll audits, etc.
- Oversee general ledger maintenance to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records
- Oversee tax planning to ensure compliance with Federal, State and Local Government
- Work alongside investment advisors to ensure client goals are met
- Review & work with client’s legal team regarding various contracts
- Manage income tracking
- Knowledge of various entity structures (S-Corp, C-Corp, Partnership, LLC) and their applicability
- Manage risk by reviewing insurance coverage and providing recommendations to the client
- Manage all major asset purchases for clients, including but not limited to real estate, vehicles, and alternative private investments
- Manage year-end financial closeout process which includes ensuring timely and accurate payroll submissions, annual tax projection for corporate entities and individuals, and cash management
Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting (or related business field)
- Active CPA license – strongly preferred
- Business Management experience required
- Managerial experience required
- Experience in Agilink & Zenith – preferred
- Proficiency with CCH, Axcess, XCM, BNA – preferred
- Familiarity with tax laws and regulations required
- Proven track record of success in related field/role
- Excellent written and communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent leadership skills
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Strong time management skills to meet deadlines
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively
- Ability to express expectations and progress clearly in both written and oral communications
