What We are Looking For:  

Bender Companies is seeking a motivated Acquisitions Intern interested in growing within the Real Estate sector. Ideal candidates should be detail-oriented, reliable, and eager to learn. A commitment to professional development and a desire to contribute to our financial operations are key to success in this role. 

Dates: Internship will take place between June 1st to July 31st 

Position Overview:

As an Acquisitions Intern, you will play a critical role in supporting the sourcing, evaluation, and execution of multifamily real estate investments. This paid internship offers hands-on experience in both acquisitions and asset management, with the majority of your time spent in the acquisitions department. 

Your responsibilities will span various areas of acquisitions work, including deal sourcing, underwriting fundamentals, financial modeling, rent comparable studies, and assisting with due diligence. In addition to this, you will complete a rotation with the asset management team to gain exposure to property operations, tenant and leasing audits, and portfolio performance analysis.
 

Responsibilities: 

• Due Diligence: Provide support to Acquisitions team
• Rent Comps: Perform rent comp studies
• Underwriting: Assist the team with underwriting deals and learn some of the basics 
• Market Surveys: Conduct thorough research of new markets as part of the deal sourcing process
• Asset Management Rotation: Assist the Asset Management team with tenant, property, and expense audits

Qualifications:

• Self-motivated, passionate, and intelligent individual with an interest in commercial real estate 
• Independent thinker with an entrepreneurial mindset and desire to solve problems and navigate challenges 
• Keen eye for detail and ability to multi-task 
• Analytical prowess and willingness to learn  
• Strong written and oral communication skills 
• Basic understanding of Excel 
• Have a track record of academic excellence and participation in campus activities
