The Accreditation team in the Office of the Provost and Executive Vice President facilitates institutional accreditation, programmatic accreditation, academic program review, faculty credentialing, state reporting of institutes and centers, and the academic, student support, and administrative effectiveness assessment efforts required by USF’s institutional accreditor (the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges, or SACSCOC) and the Board of Governors (BOG) of the State University System, with the twin goals of nurturing continuous quality improvement and promoting an institutional culture of evidence based decision-making.
The person in this leadership position is an advocate for quality assurance and improvement who understands higher education administration and the unique responsibilities and authority of faculty regarding curricula and the development and assessment of student learning outcomes. In addition to working with faculty, the person in this position will work with professional staff to facilitate the evaluation of academic programs, student support services, institutes and centers, and administrative operations. A collaborator with a passion for quality improvement, the incumbent nurtures and supports the efforts of faculty, administrators, and staff across the main campus, two branch campuses, and the downtown USF Health off-campus instructional site to ensure high quality assessment plans and the effective utilization of assessment results that foster continuous quality improvement. The incumbent may also support academic program reviews and other quality assurance and improvement efforts.
The incumbent will work with those responsible for institutional accreditation and BOG reporting to ensure that assessments are conducted within the guidelines and policies emerging from new federal statutes, accreditation standards, and state requirements. The position reports to the Assistant Vice President for Accreditation who serves as USF’s Institutional Accreditation Liaison Officer.
- 45%: Direct the annual processes for the assessment of curricular offerings, academic and student support services, institutes and centers and administrative effectiveness informed by good educational practice, state and federal regulations, and institutional accreditation standards. Facilitate related reporting for internal decision making and external accountability. Facilitate continuous improvement of student learning outcomes, student development outcomes, and administrative, institute, and center goals by managing cycles for assessing offerings. Supervise Assessment Analyst. Monitor the quality of assessment including assessment of the Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) across the institution by evaluating annual reports and analyzing the extent to which findings effectively drive improvement. Lead planning, implementation, and evaluation of initiatives to improve assessment practice.
- 20%: Represent the Office of the Provost at 50% of the academic program review kickoff/exit meetings with external reviewers and college deans, ensuring representation of all stakeholders. Collaborate with the Assistant Director for Program Review and Faculty Affairs to implement take-aways and lessons learned from the Faculty Credentialing Workgroup and develop processes. Contribute to the development of an audit process to ensure accurate faculty credentialing procedures and qualification documentation. Assist in developing the plan to transition USF’s accreditation compliance to the new agency upon direction from USF leadership.
- 10%: Develop resources to provide professional development in assessment for improvement in collaboration with faculty success initiatives for teaching and learning to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of assessment training. Provide leadership to the team on unit goals and tactics as well as driving the process for individual performance goals.
- 15%: Direct the biennial review process of USF policies and regulations. Oversee Provost's Office contracts and implementation for Explorance Blue for student course evaluations and Xitracs for assessment and faculty credentialing. Serve as team backup for managing and coordinating substantive change submissions to the institutional accreditor by attending General Education, Undergraduate, and Graduate Council meetings and training provided by SACSCOC, HLC, etc.
- 5%: Serve as the unit backup contact for administrative functions- computers, equipment, building access, office supplies, physical office supervision and oversight.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Doctorate in higher education, public administration, or related social sciences.
- Degree Equivalency Clause: Nine years of direct experience for a doctoral degree.
