Job Description:
A Pitney Bowes Internship prepares students for the rigors of the working world while providing a professional and engaging learning experience. Our internships offer meaningful work with the potential to directly impact our business (learn while doing). In addition to challenging work, interns grow their professional networks. From Day 1, they have the opportunity to network with fellow interns from schools across the country as well as PB employees at all levels of the organization.
Our vision is to offer undergraduate and masters students an engaging and thought-provoking learning experience while impacting our business in a meaningful way by:
- PROJECTS: Interns are spread throughout our businesses. Each intern manager will provide intentional learning objective goals and assign real-life projects to own and drive during the summer
- SUPPORT: Each intern will be paired up with a mentor who will provide guidance, support, and insight into The PB Way!
- PAY: The wage range for this position is $24 to $28 per hour, with the actual pay dependent on your skills and experience as they relate to the job requirements.
- JOB OFFERS: The intern program may only last 10-weeks, June 9th - August 18th, but we don’t want the experience to end there. Our top interns are often offered extended internships or future job opportunities at Pitney Bowes
About the Opportunity:
Join our Enterprise Data Solutions (EDS) team and play a vital role in managing and delivering critical data across the entire business. As an EDS Intern, you'll gain hands-on experience in a dynamic environment, working with cutting-edge data technologies and contributing to impactful projects.
You'll work alongside our experienced team to support the extraction, modelling, and security of enterprise data, which powers reporting, analytics, and operational processes across all business units. We are looking for a motivated and quick-learning individual who is eager to:
- Gain Practical Experience in Enterprise Data Management: Assist in the day-to-day operations of our data pipelines and processes, using industry-leading tools like SnapLogic, FiveTran HVR CDC.
- Learn Data Orchestration: Assist with the management of the data flows and schedules.
- Explore Modern Data Warehousing: Work with Snowflake, our cloud-based data repository, and understand how it supports complex data analytics and reporting.
- Learn Data Modelling and Star Schema Design: Contribute to the development and maintenance of our 30+ data domains, modelled in star schemas and tailored views.
- Understand Data Security and Access Control: Assist in ensuring the security and integrity of our enterprise data.
- Support Reporting and Analytics: Work with Power BI and Cognos to understand how data is transformed into actionable insights for various business functions.
- Contribute to Real-World Business Applications: See how our data directly impacts operational processes (call lists, campaigns), marketing insights, financial reporting, and more.
- Research and Document Data Processes: Assist in documenting data workflows, data lineage, and best practices.
- Use Data Visualization Tools: Help create visualizations and dashboards to communicate data insights effectively.
- Collaborate with a Cross-Functional Team: Work closely with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders across the organization.
