Pratt & Whitney is seeking a highly skilled Military Data Engineer to support its Diagnostics, Prognostics, and Health Management (DPHM) discipline. This role focuses on the development and optimization of data ingestion and ETL pipelines, along with the enhancement of big data processing tools within the military data platform.
The selected candidate will work closely with a network of Pratt & Whitney engineering and sustainment teams, as well as end customers, to define and advance Condition-Based Maintenance (CBM) capabilities. This position requires expertise in data engineering, collaboration, and innovative problem-solving to drive operational efficiency and mission readiness.
What You Will Do:
- Develop distributed big data applications to support a wide variety of flight data analysis needs across a large engineering organization.
- Take requirements from a large user base and translate them into functional software that supports those needs.
- Engage in the development of flight data analytics designed to support fleets of military engine programs.
What You Will Learn:
- Exposure to tackle a variety of engineering challenges in a pivotal role supporting Pratt & Whitney’s military engine programs.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 8 years of experience in engineering, or an Advanced degree in a related field and 5 years of experience in engineering.
- Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder. Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. RTX Corporate will not offer sponsorship for this position.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Experience in at least one major coding language (Python, Java, C++, etc.).
- Experience in Python and related libraries/frameworks (NumPy, Pandas, etc.).
- Experience developing and optimizing cloud-based applications and services, preferably in AWS. (OpenSearch, lambda, SQS, SNS, ECS/EKS, etc.)
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
- Experience developing front-end applications in React / JavaScript.
- Experience working in Agile teams and exposure to Agile software development methods.
- Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.).
- Experience with version control software such as Git.
- Knowledge of and exposure to aerospace control and diagnostic systems.
